Conrad Schumacher

Mr. Schumacher is popular with both auditors and riders alike for his clarity and emphasis on rider education. His focus on mental fitness and rider awareness are enhanced and developed through his training of the horse with the basic foundations of the scales of training, his prerequisites for optimum performance, and his selection of working patterns to achieve correct execution of movements throughout the levels. Enhancing the rider's physical and mental awareness to create maximum harmony with the horse is the cornerstone of Conrad's training philosophy.

Conrad Schumacher is one of the world's foremost dressage trainers, having trained many students to international Olympic and World Championship level. He has been an influential force in the successful teams from Germany, Holland, Great Britain and the USA. With his many years of experience, first as a rider then as a coach, trainer and judge, and his excellent command of the English language, Conrad is able to communicate with clarity and candor the correct path for over 4000 horse and rider combinations.

At the 1996 Olympics, Mr. Schumacher coached two riders from the Netherlands to a Team Silver Medal finish and one to an individual Bronze medal. He was the official trainer of the British team in the 1998 Equestrian Games and the coach of the British Dressage Team at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, Australia. For over 10 years he was the USDF Advanced Young Rider/Junior Rider clinician and has led the USDF Trainers Conference on multiple occasions.

In the past 30 years, Conrad's impact on classical dressage training for competitive results has been far reaching. He also served as Master Coach for the Tempel Lipizzans for 15 years, coaching, mentoring and guiding trainers toward the demonstration of uniform and correct riding in training and in public exhibition.
